The
ambitious long-term program that the Team
SARD-Morand had for the FIA World
Endurance Chmapionship will continue, but with some changes on it, starting
with the exit of their main partner, Kairos
Technologies.
The
Japanese-Swiss team was expected to field two Morgan EVOs in the LMP2
category during the whole FIA WEC season, which one of them would receive the
winner of the reality show Race to 24.
But in fact, both cars weren’t present for the 6 Hours of Silverstone.
The whole
problem was in the team’s ownership, as Benoit
Morand sold the majority share of SARD-Morand to Kairos Technologies, but
as the Ukranian company failed to pay for the share, SARD-Morand didn’t made
the travel to England and reduced its 24
Hours of Le Mans and FIA WEC
programs to just one car.
The other
blow was in the drivers selected for the Race to 24 reality show. As Kairos
Technologies was the responsible for the program and failed to honor with their
financial commitments, the attraction was cancelled.
At the
moment, Pierre Ragues, Oliver Webb and ZoelAmberg were the selected drivers to
drive the No. 43 Morgan from Spa onwards, but there’s no confirmation if the
named lineup will remain for the 2015 season.
