With the FIA World Rallycross Championship saying goodbye to its promoter and seeing some of its confirmed venues cancel the plans, the future wasn’t looking good as no replacement was confirmed, and the organization had to move to a hands-on approach to secure a 2025 season, and another update to the schedule came this Thursday (27).
Both the World RX and Euro RX will feature the same venues as the Euro RX will continue as the support competition of the World RX weekends, basically keeping all venues that were already announced and weren’t dropped out, and since this is basically a plan to recover the lost ground, the safe approach of an almost entire European calendar is a given. Euro RX will have five rounds while the World RX needs clarification on whether the five venues will host single rounds or double headers, with a sixth slot awaiting confirmation of what might be an overseas end of season.
Lousada opens the season but is moved to late May and early June, while Höljes keeps its early July spot and Nyirád comes next two weeks later. With the mid June date being given to RallyX Euro, KymiRing continues in the World stage but will host its round in late August, while Istanbul Park appears again to save the day, ending the Euro RX season and closing the curtains in the old continent for the World RX in late September. Australia was expected to host the overseas round in November, but now the schedule slot appears without any info, which means alternatives to the initial plan will be considered, just like China was proposed last year to replace Australia, although it was also dropped out.
2025 World RX / Euro RX calendar:
31 May-1 Jun - Lousada
5-6 July - Höljes
19-20 July - Nyirád
23-24 August - KymiRing
20-21 September - Istanbul Park
TBA date and venue (World RX only)
