Uno Racing Team stays with Audi

Uno Racing Team
confirmed commitment to GT World Challenge Asia last Monday (17), staying with the car they know the most for the expansion to the Asian competition, with a safe approach also applied to the lineup responsible for their single entry.

The machine of choice is still the Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II, which was used by the Chinese team in most of their international activities, though the characteristic pink livery will receive some shades of blue as ENDLESS will appear as a primary sponsor. Outside of China, the team comes from an FIA GT World Cup of ups and downs, as Adderly Fong was the best Silver-rated driver with James Yu Kuai behind him, but the team ran mostly as the back of the field while Audi overall didn’t show anything of impact at the streets of Macau.

The lineup for the No. 16 car will consist of RIO, the founder of the team and a Silver-rated driver with two participations at the 24 Hours of Spa in 2023 and 2024, and the equally Silver-rated Shaun Thong, a well versed driver when it comes to GTWC Asia as he was part of a competitive lineup with Marchy Lee at Audi Hong Kong in the first year of the competition in 2017, scoring multiple wins and podiums. Given the choice of drivers, it is expected that Uno Racing Team will be aiming directly for overall wins, though the fierce competition from other classes won’t make things easier for them.

Uno Racing Team joins Team 5ZIGEN in aligning the only entry for their respective models, as the Audi R8 LMS Evo II follows the Nissan GT-R GT3 and sees no other entries for 2025, a turnaround from when Audi used to offer heavy support to multiple teams in the series.

The 2025 GT World Challenge Asia season starts on 12 and 13 April at Sepang, in Malaysia.
