The European champion decided to join the party, and as a last minute deal, Patrick O’Donovan will be part of the RallyX Euro League grid that will let it rip at Montalegre, though it a change compared to his 2024 Euro RX campaign.
After debuting in the Euro RX with a Ford Fiesta ST RX and then change to a title winning Peugeot 208 WRX, O’Donovan will move to a FirstCorner FC2, as Team Farén had announced a vacant spot for the weekend, which now completes the 17-car field in Portugal, with the British driver aligning the eighth example of the new car.
O’Donovan comes from a winning start in the Irish Rallycross Championship aboard the family’s Proton Iriz RX, but not only he comes sharp for competition, he comes with a history that puts him in the favorites group, as his third place at Montalegre last year was the only time he wasn’t on top of the podium in his title winning season, although he just needed that much to win the Euro RX crown.
Track activities start on Thursday and Friday with practice sessions, while the competitive action starts on Saturday.
