Enjoying
success both as a team then after as a manufacturer, the ORECA name is well known for in the sportscar scene. But now the Hughes du Chaunac-led organization is
expanding its roots to have more contact with its customers, as the French
company estabilished a base in the United States.
From the ALMS and Grand-Am early days to the current TUDOR United Sportscar Championship, ORECA always had a part in
history. Nowadays ORECA supports the PC
category teams, which use the FLM09 model.
ORECA’s
American office will be in Charlotte, in which they expected to put everything in
place to start working until the first quarter of 2015. And their plans are rather
ambitious, as the initial support will be limited to the PC and P2 class
prototypes, but somewhere in the future ORECA intends to be involved in
projects to IndyCar and NASCAR.
Expected
for 2015 too is the new ORECA 05
LMP2 Coupé, which will start testing in March, and the French manufacturer
hopes the new car hits the American tracks until the end of the TUSC season.
