After only taking part of the debut
Blancpain GT Series Asia round, Team AAI is returning
to compete in the next double-header to be held at Fuji Speedway,
Japan, on August 19th and 20th, bringing the
same pair of BMW M6 GT3 machines used at the start of the
season.
The entries will follow practically the
same categorization of the first round, with one BMW still to be
confirmed if will continue in Silver Cup or go to Pro-Am Cup, as
Jesse Krohn will pair with a still to be confirmed driver,
while the other car will stay in the Am Cup as team owner Jun San
Chen will have Lin Yu as his team mate. BMW works driver
Krohn is the ace under the sleeve for the Taiwanese team as he gave
them some help during the last Asian Le Mans Series season and
conquered an overall podium with Ollie Millroy at Sepang, so he is
expected to deliver another great display while on Japanese soil.
While team expectations are high for
the upcoming event, a good number of strong wildcard entries should
join the already tough regular field, and according to the series
organization, the grid numbers should go past 30 entries combining
GT3 and GT4 machinery.
