Tech Force beats FTR in close Tarumã thriller

Despite the cold weather and the unwelcome presence of the clouds for the Campeonato Gaúcho de Endurance race at Tarumã, sparks flew over the track almost all the time, as the No. 75 FTR JLM Racing AJR and the No. 12 Tech Force Sigma P1 G5 having a titanic battle with multiple overtakes, panel rubbing and a tight finish in favor of the Sigma, which was driven by Jindra Kraucher for the whole two hours of racing.

The No. 75 FTR AJR had the pole position, but Jindra Kraucher had the guts to attack and overtake it, putting the No. 12 Tech Force Sigma in first, and while the No. 121 Tech Force Sigma was looking like it would reach the leaders, the lead battle quickly became a two car affair as Henrique Assunção and Kraucher were a step ahead of everyone.

Assunção found a gap and passed Kraucher, and to make matters worse for the No. 12, the No. 46 Mottin AJR was fast and took second place, despite departing from the back of the field. Things would turn sour for Mottin Racing as the No. 46 AJR caught some grass in the final corner and stopped after spinning just before the main straight.

With the first hour about to end, Kraucher decided it was enough and barged his way past Cassiano Trein, with some help from the traffic to slow down the No. 75. The situation would change again with 35 minutes to go, as the No. 75 had more speed for the home straight while the No. 12 was evading traffic, making the position switch simpler.

What followed next was one of the fiercest pursuits seen in southern Brazilian motorsport, where Assunção kept trying to find gaps but Kraucher kept shutting the door on Assunção, going down to less than a second in the final lap and finishing with victory for the No. 12 Tech Force Sigma by a mere 0.361 seconds over the No. 75 FTR AJR.
