Oliver Eriksson beats Grönholm in hard battle at Valkenswaard

The first event of the 2026 RallyX season had a massive presence of the FirstCorner FC2 at Valkenswaard, and even some illustrous guests like the 2025 World RX runner-up and RallyX champion Niclas Grömholm, who fought hard in a three way battle for the win in Dutch soil but fell to Oliver Eriksson in the final moments.

While most of the Qualification was all over the place, the logic prevailed after the three heats, with Oliver Eriksson topping the table while FC2 newcomer Niclas Grönholm stood right next to him, while Lukas Andersson kept consistency in mind to be in third place, ahead of Kevin Eriksson and Casper Jansson.

Semifinal 1 had Oliver Eriksson keeping the lead and denying any gaps to Lukas Andersson, leaving his Joker to the latest moment possible while Andersson was into Casper Jansson’s field of view. While Eriksson went straight to the win, Jansson pressed Andersson in the final lap, but since both drivers had a spot in the final, Jansson decided to back off to avoid any problems.

Semifinal 2 started with Grönholm and Kevin Eriksson controlling the top two positions and running away with them at a really high pace, while the third place rolled around between Romet Tsirna, then Adam Öhman, and then it went to Emil Naessen in the final lap once all Joker laps were complete.

In the Final, Grönholm accelerated better and took the first place from Oliver Eriksson while Casper Jansson was spun in the background. Grönholm was pressed hard by Eriksson and Lukas Andersson, with Kevin Eriksson having a peek into third place, only to be bumped out by Andersson. In the final lap, Eriksson took advantage of Grönholm’s mistake and took the lead, protecting it from Grönholm and Andersson until the finish line.
