Hansen Peugeots dominate Lohéac RX

A tactical approach when it mattered the most was the golden rule for the Hansen World RX Team as always, putting their Peugeots in front at the Lohéac RX, with Timmy Hansen winning and Kevin Hansen completing the team's 1-2 in the FIA World Rallycross Championship.

Both Hansen WRXT Peugeots saw the back of someone in Q1, with Niclas Grönholm getting the upper hand over Johan Kristoffersson by a tiny margin, but the triple World RX champion took it back in Q2 despite racing with the quicker guys of the field, beating both their pace and tactics, and also beating Kevin Abbring in the clock.

Kristoffersson continued the good run by going more than a second ahead of Kevin Hansen and dominate Q3, and although Timmy Hansen conquered the Q4 with time to spare, Kristoffersson was the top qualifier with Grönholm and Hansen himself in third.

Semifinal 1 had Kristoffersson winning the brake challenge in the first corner and staying in the lead, leaving Timmy Hansen to deal with Timo Scheider. In the final lap, Kristoffersson’s win turned into a fight for survival thanks to a driveshaft failure, which handed first place to Timmy Hansen and second place to Timo Scheider, with the Swede having to defend himself from Kevin Abbring, who tried to find an opening but failed to do overtake in time.

In Semifinal 2, Kevin Hansen got the GRX SET Hyundais boxed and jumped to first place while Szabó became second and Enzo Ide went to third. Ide’s early Joker could work for Niclas Grönholm to close into his team mate, but things really worked out when Szabó closed the door into Ide after his Joker Lap, securing both GRX SET Hyundais in the Final, just behind Kevin Hansen.

The Final grid had a late change as all EKS JC work on Johan Kristoffersson’s Audi was in vain, as he couldn’t join the grid in time, so his sixth place was given to Kevin Abbring. On track, the Hansen WRXT duo was in the front row and commanded the start in their usual tactical approach combined with with fast pace to keep Timmy and Kevin Hansen together and the rest of the field out of their surroundings.

The Hansens never were threatened during the Final, with their positions being kept as it was, with Timmy in first and Kevin in second, while Niclas Grönholm completed the podium.
