2019 Blancpain GT season released for Assetto Corsa Competizione

KUNOS SImulazioni promised in the initial stages of the beta phase of Assetto Corsa Competizione that the title would not only count with the 2018 Blancpain GT Series, but will also have the 2019 season entirely for free, and so it was delivered this Wednesday (23), counting with a little extra thanks to another project that the Italian company is joining in.

The idea was to have five cars and a track included, but the McLaren Shadow project joined in, putting Assetto Corsa Competizione as one of its platforms of the eSports competition, and this unusually brought in the new McLaren 720S GT3, despite the fact that the British machine wasn’t featured in Blancpain GT in Europe. Pre-registration for McLaren Shadow is already, so if you have the skill, got for it.

Along the 720S GT3, five other GT3s were included, all of them which took part of the 2019 season, in sprint and endurance forms.

Two of them are in fact new cars, as Porsche comes in with the 911 II GT3R, with proper improvements in car balance and aerodynamics, and Aston Martin comes with the new Vantage GT3, leaving the screaming V12 power behind in history and adopting a V8, and while making use of the new platform, the new Vantage GT3 becomes more in line in terms of interchangeability with the Vantage versions in other classes.

The other three machines are in fact part of the new EVO wave that was brought in this year, as some manufacturers didn’t have a new platform to replace their current cars. From Italia comes the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo, from Germany is Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo and the Japanese representative is the Honda NSX GT3 Evo.

Despite all of the them having their own unique aspects, the approach was quite similar in all GT3 Evo cars, as handling, aero, electronics and maintenance improvements were the key points to work, as any other areas would have been affected by the Balance of Performance present in the GT3 class and would not stand out that much.

As for the circuit, Zandvoort was included in the 2019 mix, with the Dutch track in the middle of the dunes offering quite the test for good reflexes and precise handling, and with racing being the biggest patience test possible, it will be a go to track to improve your rating.

And it’s not like KUNOS Simulazioni forgot the tracks currently in game, implementing updated textures and grip levels to the ones present in the 2019 calendar. Both 2018 and 2019 versions are open to any sort of race in multiplayer, but in single player they are limited to their own season, and according to Aristotelis Vasilakos, the grip differences between the versions mean that in some tracks you may gain time, while in others you will lose.

Also in the version 1.1 update are full pit crew animations, triple screen support, a reworked showroom with support for controller and keyboard inputs, and a bit more of everything, like improvements on slipstream situations.

With the 2019 season being totally for free, just fire up Steam, download and install it and you’re good to go. Fancy a read? The update changelog is recommended.
