After the
first glance during tests realized at Sebring, the 2015 version of the Audi R18 e-tron Quattro was officially
presented, with their numbers to be used on the FIA World Endurance Championship and a white-silver-black-and-red
color scheme.
Even though
the proven 4.0 liter V6 Turbo engine is still under the body of the R18, they
decided to up their game in terms of hybrid power, but remaining the most
conservative player in the LMP1
class, as they move to the 4MJ energy subclass, while most of their rivals will
use the maximum of 8MJ. The R18 also suffered some noticeable aerodynamic
changes, especially at the front end.
The lineups
for the two FIA WEC cars, as well
for the third entry at the 24 Hours of Le
Mans were announced too, becoming like this:
