Two days
after Italian driver Vitantonio Liuzzi
was announced as part of the ByKolles
Racing lineup for the 2015 season of the FIA World Endurance Championship, he will adds another commitment
to his schedule, as Liuzzi will race in the Miami ePrix of Formula e
this weekend.
Liuzzi will
the take the seat that was occupied by another Italian, Michella Cerutti. Currently one of the two women in the series,
Cerutti decided to withdraw her entry due to ‘professional reasons’, according
to Trulli Formula e Team. Cerutti
leaves the series with no points scored and a 12th place best
finish.
Liuzzi has
the best of two worlds, as his sportcar racing ability to manage resources in
the car will ally with his driving knowledge of a single seater, mainly thanks
to his past experience in Formula One.
Both are essential abilities in Formula e, and is expected that the Italian
driver will use them at his maximum this weekend.
Liuzzi
becomes the seventh driver of the current FIA World Endurance Championship
season to enter in Formula e, alongside Loïc Duval, Lucas di Grassi, Nick
Heidfeld, StéphanneSarrazin, SebastienBuemi and Nicolas Prost, all of them from
the LMP1 category.
