Another day, another manufacturer makes its way into Automobilista 2, with REIZA Studios not holding back in the content from the British manufacturer, as its newest DLC features four cars while other two cars from France complete the pack and a renovated track appears as a standalone DLC.
Headlining the Endurance Pack Part 3 are the two Aston Martin representatives at the top of sportscar racing, with the new V12 powered Aston Martin Valkyrie GTP appearing in IMSA spec, four months after its real life debut in the American series at the 12 Hours of Sebring, and only a week after its FIA WEC counterpart made its way into Le Mans Ultimate, while the Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo, a 24 Hours of Spa winner in its debut year, makes only its third appearance in sim racing, with the Automobilista 2 version following the ones seen on Rennsport and Le Mans Ultimate.
While technically the Valkyrie GTP shouldn’t differ that much from the Valkyrie LMH, the Automobilista 2 version allows you to independently set the RPM for all 7 speeds of the gearbox, while it doesn’t have extra traction control options like power cut and slip angle, as well the lack of brake migration, and the AMS2 version also uses an engine map range instead of fuel ratio range, which affects power delivery instead of fuel consumption.
While the Vantage GT3 Evo supposedly follows the IMSA Sportscar Championship GTD regulations, as it appears in the GT3 Gen2 class in AMS2, it technically follows the original FIA spec without any power reduction, unlike the LMGT3 version in Le Mans Ultimate. With AMS2 not working with TC power cut and slip angle, these options do not appear in it, meaning it is a more simplistic implementation of both traction control and ABS, which means, the higher the number, the heavier is the interference.
A former top class sportscar appears in form of the Aston Martin Vantage GTE, which never got an Evo version until the demise of the LMGTE class after the 2023 season to give way to the LMGT3 class. Despite racing until the final days of the GTE spec, this Vantage GTE never appeared in the IMSA Sportscar Championship, with the GTLM class being strictly pro based and Aston Martin Racing focusing their professional drivers in the FIA WEC LMGTE Pro class, with no other team opting for an IMSA GTLM program as GTD was the preference.
Below that lies the Aston Martin Vantage GT4 Evo, which followed the GT3 model, making it one of the newest cars of the class, with mostly aero updates to keep up with the increasing competition, as the other GT4 car in the pack is the Alpine A110 GT4 Evo, which had similar changes when compared to its base GT4 version.
The Endurance Pack Part 3 also brings a single make cup car, with the Ligier JS2 R making its sim racing debut as official content. This car is part of the Ligier European Series, being technically its production class, while the Ligier JS P4 is the prototype, although there are no plans for the moment for the JS P4 to be included in AMS2. Despite being primarily a cup car, the 350 hp car with no assists also took part in the 24H Series.
The only circuit included is actually a separated DLC with a new version of an existing track, as the Nürburgring complex got major overhauls at different points, which made REIZA Studios get a new scan of the track to bring it, with kerb changes and some road remodeling not justifying the idea of getting the 2020 version of the track to update to 2025 standards.
Both DLC packs will remain free to test for some days, while other changes related to the version 1.6.6 appear in the Automobilista 2 Steam page.
