It was the Sunday of Oliver Eriksson as RallyX North completed the weekend at Älvsbyn, with not even the rain in the Swedish circuit holding back the Olsbergs MSE driver in his quest for a dominant win in the second event of the double header.
Oliver Eriksson was practically a class of his own during Qualifying, with two wins in the three heats and the top qualifier spot while Lukas Andersson won a heat and got second place, having Kevin Eriksson right behind him in third and Romet Tsirna in fourth.
The Semifinals were held in wetter conditions than in Qualifying, and the first one had the Erikssons bumping each other’s door before Oliver got the lead from Kevin. Despite having to approach with caution, nothing stopped them from sending it hard wherever the track allowed it, although it didn’t change positions in the end, with Oliver Eriksson leading Kevin Eriksson and Adam Öhman being a league below them.
Tsirna led Andersson in the second Semifinal, but Daarbak kept a close watch until he decided for an early Joker. Andersson shut off Daarbak when he went to the Joker on Lap 2 and Tsirna went for it on Lap 3, and without the need to take more risks, the positions were kept as they were with Tsirna leading Andersson and Daarbak.
With a persistently wet track and more rain falling down, the Final had Oliver Eriksson leading as his speed blocked any opportunities for Tsirna while Kevin Eriksson and Adam Öhman opted for early Jokers, with Daarbak going for it a lap later. Oliver Eriksson eventually had no opposition as Tsirna had more worries behind him, but when Andersson lost time fighting with Kevin Eriksson, he got some room to breathe and focus in the front. Even having all the clean air of the world made no favors for Tsirna as Oliver Eriksson was unreachable until the finish line, winning in the same commanding manner he drove all Sunday.
