Mandalika moved away for Buriram in the GTWC Asia calendar

The 2027 calendar for GT World Challenge Asia gets the same consistency that would be seen in GT World Challenge Europe, with only two circuit changes and the rest being just date adjustments of the venues that remain in the schedule.

The changes in question are the removal of Mandalika after only one edition held this year to put back the Chang International Circuit at Buriram, with Stéphane Ratel explaining that the move was made in order to put Mandalika as a season opener in 2028, which leaves openings on how the Southeast Asian part of the series will be after 2027, and the exit of Okayama in favor of Suzuka, in a standalone round that will have no relation with IGTC’s Suzuka 1000km.

While Sepang still opens the season in early April, Buriram gets the spot in May and Suzuka starts the GT Powertour in June. Fuji remains near half July to end the trip to Japan while the Beijing street circuit opens the activities in China in early October, with the Shanghai circuit closing the season a week earlier than the scheduled late October date of 2026.

The GT World Challenge Asia date at Suzuka won’t have any relation with the SRO Japan Cup, with it being a standalone event to close the season while also being in the support program for the Suzuka 1000km. The Suzuka finale will have three double headers at Motegi, Fuji and Okayama before it, with Motegi replacing SUGO in mid May, while the Fuji appears as a support for GTWC Asia and Okayama stays as the second standalone event, moved from late August to early August.
