IGTC calendar has only one change for 2027

The 24 Hours of Spa weekend is generally the one where Stéphane Ratel and SRO announce their plans for the next season, and stability will continue to be the name of the game for the Intercontinental GT Challenge in 2027, apart from a single change that will happen in the American round of the series, which runs with GT World Challenge America.

The 2027 season will end earlier than the current one, with a different location too, as the Suzuka 1000km takes the sport, meaning the season won’t end in the United States for the first time since 2023, and Suzuka will be the third Asian circuit to end the season after Sepang and Abu Dhabi.

Since the next season will end earlier, of course Suzuka keeps its date slot in September, because the US round will be moved to early May at the Circuit of the Americas, as the Texas 8 Hour is the third attempt to make it work stateside, after Laguna Seca was abandoned due to lack of entries and Indianapolis having a full scale repavement of the track, and to avoid problems for the IGTC schedule, the solution was found in Austin. Considering the reason behind the change, it doesn’t seem to be permanent, though it would depend of how the event unfolds.

COTA has quite the endurance racing tradition, being the host of the FIA WEC 6 Hours of COTA, hosting an IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship round and having tried their way with other competitions, like the 24H Series, for example.

With the COTA weekend also not moving from its date slot, the American IGTC round will go to May, pushing the 24 Hours of Nürburgring to the end of the month, while the Bathurst 12 Hour and the 24 Hours of Spa will remain in their slots, unless there are some fine tuning in the agreement for them.

2027 IGTC season:

14 February - Bathurst 12 Hour
09 May - Texas 8 Hour
29-30 May - Nürburgring 24 Hours
26-27 June - 24 Hours of Spa
05 September - Suzuka 1000km
