Timmy Hansen went from a total disaster at Crandon to his first RallyX Americas win at Eldora, getting the first place in only his third event onboard the FC1, right in front of the Eriksson brothers Kevin and Oliver, who developed the car used in the Hypercar class.
Semifinal 1 had Robin Larsson and Kevin Eriksson side by side at the start, but their melee actually brought Tommi Hallman to the party while Mikaela Ahlin-Kottulinsky and Amanda Sorensen chose early Joker Laps. A series of crossovers kept Eriksson and Larsson in front, but when Hallman poked his nose between them, Larsson took the hit and visited the wall while Eriksson had the lead for him until the final lap, as Eriksson had a Joker to do and Ahlin-Kottulinsky not, and when she bumped Eriksson to the right side in the final corner, she took the win from the Olsbergs MSE driver, with Hallman finishing just behind them in third.
In the second Semifinal, only one driver would be out of the Final, which means a more aggressive approach to battle for positions. Oliver Eriksson remained side by side with Timmy Hansen and eventually took the lead. Hansen covers his spot from Lia Block and Jimmy Henderson with a mid race Joker, getting the lead from Oliver Eriksson before the final lap and not letting go of it until the finish, and behind them, Lia Block outpaced Henderson for the final spot in the A-Final.
The A-Final saw Timmy Hansen take the lead from a failed attempt of an overtake from Ahlin-Kottulinsky, which opened the door for Oliver Eriksson and Hallman, making her go to the Joker for a change of strategy. Hallman did the Joker early and had full advantage over the Eriksson brothers, but the time spent behind them didn’t allow the SET Promotion driver to reach Timmy Hansen, who ran straight to the win.
Robin Larsson had a dominant run to win the B-Final comfortably.
