The only series that had a calendar announcement without the full list of venues for 2027 was GT World Challenge Australia, but with only the season finale to confirm, there is little to worry about, as one venue change and some date adjustments mark their schedule.
While GTWC Australia followed the steps of GTWC Asia and decided to not have the IGTC round in their calendar, the logic for the Australian series was to keep Bathurst in the calendar as a separate event, just like how Suzuka works in the Asian series. The return of the mountain to GTWC Australia apparently comes as a replacement to Hidden Valley, even though the event at the Darwin based circuit wasn’t held yet this year.
There is a slot to be confirmed in the season finale, but it wouldn’t be a surprise to see it going again to Adelaide, just like how the current season will close the curtains. With Bathurst replacing Hidden Valley, the June slot in the calendar is moved to October, with the events at Queensland and Sydney also being moved.
Bathurst returns after two years away from the calendar, with Sandown and Hidden Valley acting as covers for the vacant spot. Previously, the Bathurst round was part of the Bathurst International event with the TCR World Tour and TCR Australia, with a similar date compared to the one that SRO will use in 2027, but with the worldwide competition not visiting Australia and the national touring car series in the verge of collapse, the 2027 edition will follow the rest of the GTWC Australia calendar, being part of the Shannons Speedseries.
2027 GTWC Australia calendar:
17-18 April - Phillip Island
29-30 May - The Bend
24-25 July - Sydney
18-19 September - Queensland
30-31 October - Bathurst
Final event to be confirmed
