There was no effective competition for Mottin Racing in the second round of the 2026 Campeonato Gaúcho de Endurance season, as the No. 46 JLM Racing AJR of Cole Loftsgard, Adriano Baldo and Igor Vacari had smooth sailing around the Santa Cruz do Sul circuit, despite the surprises that the team in general had in the two hour race.
The JLM AJRs from Mottin Racing nearly had a surprise before the first corner, as the No. 63 Tech Force Mercedes came from the outside and almost pounced both the No. 46 and the No. 26. After a brief Safety Car period, the No. 26 took the lead as Juliano Moro was faster than Igor Vacari, navigating through traffic with more ease too.
With cars dropping out of the race, the Safety Car had an extended period in the first hour. The thing that the Mottin Racing crew didn’t count was that the No. 26 AJR had a terminal issue and retired from nearly an hour in the lead, which handed the overall top spot to the No. 121 Tech Force Sigma, which held the position with tactical placement for a while, but Cole Loftsgard had no reservations once the spot was open at the main straight, using the speed advantage to dispatch Marcelo Vianna.
The gap that was more than 30 seconds went down to almost nothing due to a Safety Car intervention as the No. 5 MC Tubarão GeeBee nearly burned down due to an engine blow, but once the No. 26 Mottin AJR started stretching the gap again as the No. 121 Tech Force Sigma got stuck behind the No. 75 FTR AJR. With this, Adriano Baldo just had to bring it home to celebrate the victory.
Gaúcho de Endurance - Round 2 results
With its ups and downs, the No. 63 Tech Force Mercedes won the P2 class from the third place overall, while the No. 7 Overboost MRX won in the P3 class. The No. 977 977 Performance Toyota won the GT1 class, the No. 18 RSports Aldee was the best P4 after the No. 23 Madom spun, and between the P4 cars, the No. 33 MC Tubarão BMW won the GT2 class and saved the day for the team.
A return to Tarumã is the next step of the championship, with the third 2 hour race of the season set for 4 July.
