The first two hours of the Campeonato Gaúcho de Endurance in 2026 were a reliability that gave the prizes to those who only visited the pits when necessary, and with a textbook race for the whole time, the No. 46 Mottin Racing JLM Racing AJR continued where it left off and triumphed with certain ease, as Cole Loftsgard, Adriano Baldo and Igor Vacari remained in full control after quickly outpacing the main threats to their win at Guaporé.
Cole Loftsgard opened the race in the lead and started to open a gap to the opposition, as the No. 46 Mottin AJR virtually had no inconveniences on the way, while the No. 12 Tech Force Sigma had the No. 75 FTR AJR on the chase, with the cars swapping positions as the No. 12 fell off for a while, losing 14 seconds to the No. 75.
Between the first pit window and a yellow flag caused by the No. 7 Overboost MRX, the order changed a little behind the No. 46, with the No. 121 Tech Force Sigma taking the second place for a brief moment, all because Fabio Fichter stepped too much in the grass at the Radiador, spinning and crashing immediately in the process., which brough a pretty long Safety Car period.
In the second half of the race, with most of the classes being resolved, the whole field opted to slow down the pace in order to conserve equipment, although this didn’t evade further breakdowns, like the No. 50 MC Tubarão Audi and No. 88 Overboost FIAT, being especially worse for the latter as the car was leading the GT2 class, with the class lead going to the No. 33 MC Tubarão BMW.
The remainder of the race was just managing equipment, with the full lap behind not allowing the No. 75 FTR AJR to pester the No. 46 Mottin AJR, which led almost from lights to flag without any problems in the way.
2 Hours of Guaporé - Race results
MC Tubarão stood far away from the battle for overall honors, but controlled the P2 class with the No. 5 GT40 P2. A debut in the championship for the No. 977 Tech Force Toyota had a GT1 class win at the line, while consistency put the No. 33 MC Tubarão BMW on top of the GT2 class. THe revived No. 23 Madom survived to be registered as the P4 class winner, being the last car to finish on track. Despite the problematic race with lots of time spent in the pitlane to solve issues, the No. 7 Overboost MRX was registered as the P3 class winner.
The CGE returns to action on 9 May, with the 2 Hours of Santa Cruz do Sul.
