The third round of the Campeonato Gaúcho de Endurance at Tarumã showed Tech Force’s reliability as a decisive factor to beat a competitive but inconsistent opposition as their main threats fell for different reason over the two hours of racing, leaving the path open for the No. 12 Sigma P1 G5 of Jindra Kraucher to lead the way a 1-2 finish that had the No. 121 Sigma P1 G5 of Ricardo Haag and Gerson Zarpelão Jr. trailing the winners for a tiny margin at the finish line.
The No. 46 Mottin AJR had advantage due to the pole position and took control of the frontrunning pack, and with five minutes of racing, the traffic that would make or break for the fastest prototypes started to appear, keeping the gap stable but limiting the lead battle between the No. 46 and the No. 12 Tech Force Sigma.
With nearly 30 minutes of racing, the No. 46 had to pit for emergency checks in what supposedly was an issue in the front axle, which handed the overall lead to the No. 12 while the No. 110 Overboost DTR was trailing it. With a mix of failures, contacts and spins, the No. 121 Tech Force Sigma took the second place while the No. 80 Power Imports AJR had the third place, which prevailed until the end of the first hour and even involved the No. 110 as it stopped on track due to a fuel pump issue when the car was low on fuel, and then tumbled down the order.
The final stint had total control from Tech Force as the No. 80 was two laps down and defending position from the No. 46. While the No. 121 Sigma was closing down the gap, it didn’t interfere with the established order as the No. 12 Tech Force Sigma kept en route to finish in first and lead the team’s 1-2.
