The 2025 Império Endurance Brasil calendar had some adjustments here and there with more than a month to the opening round, with surprises coming in the venues included and those which left the schedule.
Of those which left the competition, it was already known that the planned opening round at the new Raceville complex at Brotas wouldn’t go ahead as a lot of work still needs to be done to get the track up to the desired safety standards, even though the whole circuit is complete and hosting some track days.
Of all places you could see leaving Endurance Brasil, it was hard to imagine Goiânia being the other one, with the hot and dry weather in the Goiás state capital being an attraction by itself during the races, as strategy is key for at least three of the four hours to preserve equipment for the final push. There were years where Goiânia would have a weekend double header or two to three rounds in a single season.
One of the replacement venues is the return to Cascavel, as the home of the Cascavel de Ouro held a race recently and its incredibly high paced nature proved to be a tough test for the teams and the biggest of Pirelli’s headaches, as the P Zero DHD2 and DHE tires were being torn from the inside carcass due to the constant high load applied in the rear right corner, as most of the Autódromo Zilmar Beux is composed of medium to high speed left handers.
The other inclusion in the calendar keeps the championship in the midwest region, with Brasília being again in the hopes of a national championship after featuring more than once in the Stock Car Brasil calendar. It is well known that the Autódromo Internacional Nelson Piquet is in a worse state than the Raceville, with the addition that the planned repairs and reconstruction of the venue wasn’t advancing due to bureaucracy issues for almost 2 years, so to keep the hopes alive, it appears as the season finale as the Distrito Federal government and the BRB bank expect the renovation process to be concluded in the second half of 2025, when the track will be in a state to be opened for events again.
Interlagos stays with a season opening double header, while the Velopark is moved from August to June while Cascavel takes the August spot. The Velo Citta double header takes the date initially set for Santa Cruz do Sul, with the second Rio Grande do Sul round being moved to November, and Brasília ends the season where Goiânia was initially planned.
