Tanner Foust joins RallyX Euro

Driver announcements for the upcoming RallyX Euro league are still coming, but in between those already confirmed, a sensational return to Europe for Tanner Foust gives the boost that the championship needs.

According to Kevin Eriksson, Foust will be in the cockpit of one of the new FirstCorner FC2s, with some models ready that might be the ones used in NRX NEXT in the United States or models that stood at home in Sweden, and given that with full power unleashed this car can compete in the Open 4WD class, it will be both a competition and an experiment for Foust.

Foust actually has a long relationship with Olsbergs MSE before they became his rivals in Global Rallycross when he went to Volkswagen, as his six wins, 11 podiums and a runner-up finish and a third place in the Euro RX standings were with Olsbergs MSE prepared Ford Fiestas. In Europe, Foust would also get an Euro RX podium and a World RX win in treacherous conditions at a drenched Kouvola in the first year of the competition in 2014.

Two GRC titles would be also with Olsbergs MSE machinery while he also has the 2019 Americas Rallycross title, finally beating Scott Speed after so many years of effort in the almighty Volkswagen Beetle RXs from Andretti Autosport. With both GRC and ARX coming to an end, Foust would move to Nitrocross with Dreyer & Reinbold, barely making to three finals in the 2021 season.

After two years out of rallycross due to his Extreme E commitments with NEOM McLaren, Foust came back to Nitrocross before the series dismissal, scoring a podium with Xite Racing and nearly missing a podium in his return to Olsbergs MSE, proving he is still in an adaptation period to recover his form from the past.

The full RallyX Euro season starts on 29 and 30 March at Montalegre, in Portugal, a place that Foust knows well as one of his Euro RX wins was there.
