JLM Racing scores tough Interlagos win in Endurance Brasil

The sixth round of the 2024 Império Endurance Brasil season had multiple contenders applying their varied strategies to bid for the win, though the polesitting No. 444 JLM Racing AJR of Vicente Orige and Sarin Carlesso was the first to see the checkered flag with a very late charge in their favor.

The No. 444 JLM AJR was quick to assert dominance while the No. 12 Tech Force Sigma took second place from the No. 35 TMG AJR, all before the No. 26 Mottin AJR stopped on track and called the first Safety Car intervention. Once the green flag was waved again, the No. 12 took the lead and opened the gap very quickly.

The No. 31 AutLog Ligier opted for a shorter fuel service in the first pit stop, which granted it the lead once the No. 12 went for the full service. Once the teams went back to regular pit strategies, the No. 12 got the lead back at the halfway point, but Renan Guerra did a massive charge to put the No. 31 in the direct fight for first place, though it was the second pit stop that did the trick for AutLog Racing until the final pit stop in the last hour.

The final hour also had the No. 63 Tech Force Mercedes sending the No.718 Stuttgart Porsche to the wall with a side contact, so it was another Safety Car entry to the count, along with a disqualification for the Mercedes due to avoidable contact, and with some of the frontrunners needing to stop due to being out of the hourly pit strategy, the No. 444 rose to the lead with the No. 9 AMattheis Ligier in the chase, but with both cars having similar pace through the remaining 30 minutes, Vicente Orige just had to bring the No. 444 JLM AJR home and celebrate the win.
