It has been some time since the last content drop for Rennsport, but Competition Company decided to go for popular choices and added two Hypercars and a new circuit to improve the variety, especially as they are related to some features and fixes that are related to this content.
The Hypercars in question are well known from the sim racing community as the Porsche 963 and the BMW M Hybrid V8 start the appearance of the rising class in Rennsport, putting it alongside iRacing and Automobilista 2 as the titles that have both vehicles. They are in IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship spec, so visually they look more similar than what you may see in AMS2 and iRacing, like how the power modes are shown.
The circuit added is actually a surprise as Fuji Speedway becomes the fifth venue outside Germany officially implemented in Rennsport, adding to a list that has Daytona, Road Atlanta, Spa-Francorchamps and the Goodwood Hillclimb. If not for Le Mans Ultimate and Gran Turismo 7, Fuji would have been a long time away from being official content in a simulator, as Project CARS 2 had the honor, and unlike the mentioned titles, Rennsport doesn't have an associated Japanese company or a series license to guarantee the inclusion of the circuit, which makes it a really peculiar case.
Along the content drop that is available right away, more features were implemented and others were improved to include not only endurance racing but also multiclass racing. Maximum race length was bumped up, and so was the number of grid slots per server, which goes from 16 to 24 cars.
Adding to this, the rolling start mechanic was totally revised and a visible Safety Car was included, while a rudimentary version of a pit stop procedure is available, where the work is done but without the cosmetics to follow, like pit crew models, animations and other things.
A description in full of what is in and what is out is in the official Rennsport website and in the Rennsport Companion app. Rennsport is limited to PC via Epic Games as key distribution is still ongoing.
