JP Motorsport prepares McLaren duo for GTWC Europe

After some brief appearances in the FANATEC GT World Challenge Europe and a time off, JP Motorsport is set to return to the series in 2022 with most of the same base that was present in its last appearance, but with an increased program.

After appearing in 2020 with a Mercedes AMG GT3, the German team switched to a McLaren 720S GT3, being one of the few with the model in the series, appearing at the Paul Ricard 1000 while electing to commit mostly to the renewed DTM, where a fifth place finish at Assen was the best result for former Formula 1 driver Christian Klien. The team kept that same McLaren and added another one to the fleet, with intentions of competing in the whole GTWC Europe season, Sprint and Endurance Cup.

By the way, Klien will be leading the driver lineups for JP Motorsport, and considering he has a lot of experience in the game, thanks to his previous seasons with Emil Frey Racing, the German team is well served initially, while the rest of the pieces will come in the near future, including the class or classes where the team will fit in.

The next FANATEC GT World Challenge Europe season starts with the Endurance Cup round at Imola on 3 April.
