Ken Block announces Projekt E effort

The Mr. Hoonigan is back to European rallycross, but no, Ken Block isn’t coming for a third shot into the World RX. The American driver will in fact compete in the Projekt E series, adding to quite an extensive rallycross resume.

It would be unthinkable to see Block drive anything else than a Ford, and the STARD-developed Ford Fiesta ERX is his machine of choice, and both sides of the mix have been quite active recently, with the Fiesta ERX competing and winning races against petrol-powered opponents in Hungary while Block hooned the brand new Ford Mustang Mach-E and all of its 1400 HP, also electric-powered but with a bit above the double of power of the Fiesta ERX and a bit more aero to keep it planted, unlike the more tail-happy Fiesta.

Block’s adventure in rallycross features five seasons in Global Rallycross with a runner-up finish in 2014, a podium in his World RX debut in 2014 at Hell and two full seasons in the championship partnering Andreas Bakkerud in the Hoonigan Racing Division pair of Ford Focus RS RX, with the model being used in two podiums in ARX in 2018, which was the last time Block competed in the discipline.

Block is set to compete in the Höljes RX double-header on 22nd and 23rd August, which will open the Projekt E, with no further participations being considered.
