Two Nissans for KCMG in Blancpain GT Asia

Hong Kong-based KCMG team is an organization aiming for various efforts, and after completing the 2017/2018 Asian Le Mans Series and seeing their name in the reserve list for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, they also set their plans for the second season of the Blancpain GT Series Asia, with a car change for the coming season.

In the debut season of the Asian competition, KCMG aligned two Audi R8 LMS cars which competed in the GT3 Pro-Am and GT3 Am classes, and while both were away the title battles, they had their moments of glory and class wins.

But for 2018, KCMG partnered with Nissan to align two Nissan GT-R GT3 models, which is in case the new model based in the 2017 GT-R road car and this puts the team as one of first to compete with it, the other being the GAINER team in Super GT, also with two GT-Rs. KCMG has some history with NISMO power but this was crammed into prototypes, be them in LMP2 or LMP3, so this is like an expansion of their current activities with the Japanese manufacturer.

No drivers were confirmed to the moment but Head of Motorsport Ryuji Doi revealed that they are aiming for a strong lineup for the two cars, meaning they are likely to go to the Pro-Am or Silver Cups.
The 2018 Blancpain GT Series Asia season starts on April 14th and 15th at Sepang, with strong outfits like CRAFT-Bamboo, Absolute Racing and FFF Racing by ACM already confirmed in the grid.
