Here it is, the Ginetta G60-LT-P1

After a good number of years being in a secondary role due to strong factory presence, the LMP1 class privateers will return with high profile programs to the FIA World Endurance Championship in 2018/2019, and another exponent of this turnaround was presented this Thursday (11) as the new Ginetta G60-LT-P1.

The new kid of the manufacturer of Lawrence Tomlinson was shown at the Autosport International, and if you think it couldn’t go more British, they No. 60 show car was revealed in the livery that TRS Manor will use during the season as one of the customers to use the prototype, with Tomlinson being alongside Ewan Baldry and Manor’s Graeme Lowdon. The G60-LT-P1 now becomes the top step into the Ginetta ladder, which comprises a junior series with the G40, GT4 with the G55 and track day prototype ranks with the G58, which will replace the G57, with adventures in GT3 and LMP3 being in their recent past.

Big names were involved in the development of the project along those mentioned, like Paolo Catone the man behind the Peugeot 908 design, Adrian Reynard with CFD work and wind tunnel tests have been made at the Williams Advanced Engineering installations, and talking about names, TRS Manor still has to announce their drivers that will race the car, while on track testing will come soon and a second car remains a possibility. Also, there are more customers with orders of the car being confirmed, though there's no identity of them, which could put the number of British cars in LMP1 to six.

Even though the G60-LT-P1 to be used by TRS Manor will feature a Mecachrome engine, other engine brands and configurations can be used according with the wish of the customer.
