After various entries with other teams
in the FIA World Rallycross Championship, Guerlain
Chicherit decided it was time to change his approach and brought
his own team, GCK, to the game. Things would get serious with the new
Prodrive Megane RS RX, set to be revealed last weekend at
Lohéac, but plans were moved for a 2018 debut of the car, although
now with an increased program.
In fact the plans for GCK are on
schedule as the participation with the Prodrive Megane RS RX would
just serve as a preparation for the full time campaign next year, but
as revealed by GCK themselves, discussions about the technical side
if the project held back the parts involved, and this gap gave the
opportunity to announce that Chicherit will bring another Megane
along with his one next year, although no driver was confirmed and no
estimated time for a driver announcement was given.
Chicherit himself is using this time
until the Prodrive Megane RS RX is complete to improve his racecraft
and to add more rallycross experience to be more prepared, and to do
so he is switching between a supercar campaign with a Renault Clio
RX, a partial effort in the RX2 International Series with OIsbergs
MSE and some karting, all while attracting more partners to the
project.
