The October 25th
is marking a new chapter for Porsche
in sim racing for PC as the first pack for Assetto
Corsa was finally released on Steam,
with seven cars and lots of variety. It was also the opportunity to
update the Italian title to the 1.9 version.
The lineup was
previously announced in a series of teasers released by the KUNOS
Simulazioni staff but still is really
worth mentioning, as you go from the more stable 718 Cayman S road
car and its 350 hp to the 917/30, a 1200 hp Can-Am devil eager to go
out of control if you make the slight mistake. In between this, we
also have the 911 Carrera S and the hybrid 918 Spyder hypercar as the
road going choices available, and for the race track enthusiasts we
have the new Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport that started its racing
activities this year, the 911 Carrera RSR 3.0 and the classic 935/78
“Moby Dick”.
Along with the DLC
content the new Panamera Turbo comes as the first of three cars
announced to come with each pack, being a balanced compromise between
a luxury car and a performance oriented machine. Also available for
free with this new release is a classic version of the Silverstone
circuit, inspired in the 60s like the Monza layouts already present
in the simulator.
The 1.9 version
brought a lot of improvements, especially in terms of audio, but
various areas suffered changes. Version 10 tires are finally
available for GT3
cars along with a ballast system controlled via app for the single
player modes. If you are into modding, driver and crew templates are
now available to create your own layouts, and also the multiplayer
side had its updates, including an Anti-wrecker protection system to
punish those who tend to crash into others on purpose. The whole
changelog can be seen in their announcement post on Steam.
Pricing of the pack
is as previously announced, being it 6,99 Euros, with the option of
buying all three packs for 15 Euros in the season pass.
