Another team will
contribute to the growing grid of the LMP3
class in the Asian Le Mans Series
next season as PS Racing
will join the regional championship with an ADESS
03 model, as part of an extensive plan
towards Asian and beyond in 2016.
PS Racing owner
Pekka Saarinen
established himself in Asia and the same happened with his racing
career to the point of forming his own team, acting as a driver/owner
until 2013. Since then, Saarinen stepped back from the driving duties
and concentrated his efforts in the ownership side, admitting that
since he decided to become only the team owner, his goal was towards
endurance racing.
Their endurance
commitments start with the Asian Le Mans
Sprint Cup and the Road
to Le Mans support race for the 24
Hours of Le Mans. In total there will
be three races before PS Racing joins the Asian Le Mans Series, and
there are plans for a second car, which is an unconfirmed CN
prototype.
The driver pair for
the ADESS 03 will see the Italian driver Angelo
Negro and the Monegasque Philippe
Prette. Both Negro and Prette have some
good years of GT racing in their bodies and both are used to
endurance racing, as Prette has a participation at the Spa
24 Hours in 2005 and Negro ran twice in
the Malaysia Merdeka Endurance Race, now known as the Sepang
12 Hours. Both drivers then turned
their attention to the Ferrari Challenge Asia Pacific, with Prette
having some good results on it.
Although grids for
the other classes doesn’t any sign of confirmation, the LMP3 class
already has six entries counting with PS Racing, as Infinity Race
Engineering bring the other ADESS 03 while PRT Racing, ARC
Bratislava and Aylezo Ecotint Racing bring a total of four Ginettas.
