With less than a
month ahead of the FIA World Endurance
Championship test, the Prologue at
Circuit Paul Ricard, the entry list for the official warm-up of the
championship was released with practically all cars present.
The Prologue is
normally a moment to see what the teams will bring to the season to
come in terms of cars and drivers, but also is an opportunity to see
the FIA WEC
atmosphere at its best, as the second of the two days of testing will
be open to the public with free admission, pit walk and autograph
sessions, and fan experience is one of the signature points of the
competition.
The only absences
between the 32 full season entries are the second cars from Audi and
Toyota in the LMP1
class and the second LMGTE-Pro
Aston Martin entry. Of those who will represent them in France, Audi
selected its main trio of Andre Lotterer, Benoit Treluyer and Marcel
Fässler, and Toyota will go with Sebastien Buemi, Anthony Davidson
and Kazuki Nakajima. Aston Martin opted to bring a driver of each
entry, calling Marco Sorensen and Fernando Rees.
Most of the crews
will bring their full lineups, although there are still some names to
be announced. One of the newcomers in the LMP2
class for 2016, Manor is bringing four drivers to test their ORECA 05
that will go to testing, bring them Tor Graves, Matt Rao, the former
F1 driver Will Stevens and the former IndyCar driver James Jakes. On
the other hand, Dempsey-Proton confirmed only the team owner
Christian Ried to be present in France, who is also listed in the
KCMG Porsche that will race in the LMGTE-Am
category. Other important confirmations to be seen are from SMP
Racing and Ford Chip Ganassi, who still listed only their nominated
drivers.
The Prologue will be
held on March 25th-26th
and the full entry list can be seen here.
