After two
years spent only in sprint racing, BMW
Team Brasil expands their operation to the whole Blancpain GT Series, as they will participate in the Sprint and
Endurance Series with the usual pair of BMW
Z4 GT3 models. SRO made some
effort to make more teams race in the whole Blancpain GT Series calendar, and
the Washington Bezerra-led team is one of them.
About the
drivers, there are only three names confirmed to the season. The No. 0 BMW
repeats the lineup of the last season, with Cacá Bueno and Sergio
Jimenez, and the third driver for the endurances events will be confirmed
soon. The No. 77 BMW only has Valdeno
Brito as confirmed driver.
And even
though the BMW Z4 GT3 is proven to be a competitive car, the BMW Team Brasil
leaders entered in discussion with BMW Motorsport to see which areas can be
improved in the car, as they complain that the Balance of Performance is pretty
detrimental on their performances.
Their entry
in the Blancpain Endurance Series
will mark the return of a Brazilian flagged team to the 24 Hours of Spa, as the last Brazilian team in the
Belgian endurance classic was in 2009, with the Sangari Team Brasil squad with support of DKR Engineering in a Corvette C6.R GT1.
