If you’re a
Dodge Viper fan, certainly you
didn’t got too happy with the news that the champion GTLM Viper effort was
folded two days after the United Sportscar
Championship title. But don’t worry, the solution to not let these beasts without
racing may be on the other side of the atlantic.
In a week
when we saw some Vipers test at Daytona, in all the possible specs, Michel MacBurnie told Endurance-Info that there are interested
teams in running the ex-GTLM Vipers in the European
Le Mans Series GTE class. The idea was to not sell the cars, but then SRT
gave the green light, that has at least two interested teams to negotiate.
And as
there are interested parts in the Viper GTS-R, there are even more parts
looking into the Viper GT3-R, as the FIA GT3 spec monster already made its name
in North America and Europe itself, with victories in the Pirelli World Challenge and Dutch
Supercar Challenge championships.
And talking
about winning outfits, one of the tipped teams to get at least a Viper is Team Race Art, that already have a
Viper GT3-R, and may be using to cars to jump into a Blancpain Endurance Series program.
