Top World RX drivers present in FIA RX2e grid at Mettet

Being the support class of the FIA World Rallycross Championship geared towards youth development, the FIA RX2e Championship will see something a little out of the line at the next round at Mettet, 8n Belgium, as four drivers from the World RX top-5 compete against the talents of the future.

Johan Kristofferson and Ole Christian Veiby boost the numbers for Kristofferson Motorsport, which already has their pupil Nils Andersson as a competitor, while Hansen WRXT fields two cars for Timmy and Kevin Hansen, who also have their business in the championship with their #YellowSquad team as it fields two cars for title contender Isak Sjökvist and Catie Munnings.

The idea came for both teams due to the same reason, which is the cancellation of the World RX round at the Circuit Jules Tacheny, with investigations still on course about what is the root cause of the fire that consumed all the equipment and cars from Special ONE Racing, so security guarantees couldn't be entirely given to the RX1e models.

With the extra free time at hand and the thumbs up from QEV, the World RX organization and the FIA, all four drivers will be able to test and field their new machinery, and while they are experts in the level above, they are not used to the Olsbergs MSE built machine, with barely any mileage under their belts, though Kristofferson and Veiby can say they had a close look at it since they competed against the current champion and points leader Viktor Vranckx in RallyX Nordic, as the Belgian competes against the supercars to get better preparation for the FIA RX2e Championship season.

The FIA RX2e round at Mettet will be held on 6 August. The World RX is possibly returning at Estering, in Germany, on 20 August, though with the proximity of the event and with the two overseas double headers following, the date might be adjusted.
