2024 GTWC Asia calendar confirmed with two extra circuits

After a provisional calendar was announced during the 24 Hours of Spa weekend, FANATEC GT World Challenge Asia still had a slot to fill, though with the announcement that completes the 2024 puzzle, they were beyond the missing piece.

Seven events will be in the schedule, though only six of them will count to the regional GT World Challenge series, as Shanghai was selected to be the wanted Chinese round, while Sportsland Sugo returned too in order to be the Japan Cup opener.

A return to China was always in the cards for SRO, and after four years away from it while Chinese teams competed again in GTWC Asia, Shanghai was decided. As for Sugo, the idea is to keep the Japan Cup with four weekends, but instead of flying the full season teams from Buriram, it will be an exclusive Japan Cup to diminish costs and boost the standing of the series.

Sugo already has the 8 and 9 June date reserved, while the Shanghai date is still listed as 'to be confirmed', which leaves the whole 2024 calendar like this:

20-21 April - Sepang

11-12 May - Buriram

8-9 June - Sugo (Japan Cup only)

22-23 June - Fuji (Japan Cup also)

13-14 July - Suzuka (Japan Cup also)

24-25 August - Okayama (Japan Cup also)

TBC - Shanghai
