Rivals become teammates for the 2022 season, as Sondre Evjen and Philip Gehrman will join forces under Joel Christoffersson’s JC Raceteknik outfit in RallyX Nordic, with the team set to put maximum focus in the northern competition.
Both of them come from strong runs in the Audi S1 EKS RX, but the main change is that EKS left the alliance with JC Raceteknik on track, opting to have its own programs while still offering technical assistance to JC and other teams using the same Audi model, and being the wing of another team means less burden on Gehrman’s shoulders, as he came to where he is as an independent operation.
While Evjen could enjoy the S1 full time last season, finishing third in the standings, Gehrman had it as a late change, leaving behind his Volkswagen Polo RX and its string of reliability issues, and the Swede blended well enough with the new machine to never look behind.
The RallyX Nordic season starts at Höljes, Sweden, on 14-15 May.
