Racin’ USA DLC puts DPi and GTE in Automobilista 2

Two other new classes, three new circuits and five new machines, with one of them being a freebie, is what resumes the latest update and DLC released for Automobilista 2 by REIZA Studios, with the Brazilian company making its product even more international thanks to the first part of its Racin’ USA DLC.

The contents of this pack aren’t exactly innovations within the whole sim racing market, in special between the current titles, but every car and track included is a new entry in the REIZA Studios portfolio, obviously focusing in the United States scene and the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship, while not actually having the competition license.

Starting with the prototype class, Automobilista 2 brought the DPi class in form of the Cadillac DPi-V.R, as one of the most victorious machines in the most recent top spec of the Sportscar Championship, in what is only its second appearance in the sim racing world after the debut in RFactor2.

The GT field is formed by three GTE machines in what’s the final year of the GTLM class - the BMW M8 GTE, which is seeing a last hurrah this year with RLL, the Porsche 911 RSR GTE, one of the most popular of the class, and the young Corvette C8.R GTE, the latest car of the class with only two seasons of service. Along the GTE field, the BMW M4 GT4 was included to boost the class field without any additional cost.

The venues included are famous in the IMSA calendar but are also highly rated in other US-based championships, with Daytona, Long Beach and Laguna Seca being part of it. While Long Beach and Laguna Seca, which appear in the IMSA and IndyCar schedules, feature a single layout for all races, Daytona appears in its road course form with two variations - one it’s the famous ROLEX 24 layout, and the other is a NASCAR variation used this year that’s basically the same ROLEX 24 course with a slow chicane after the oval Turn 4, included for all NASCAR main series and ARCA in order to reduce speeds going to the road course Turn 1 and reduce the risk of brake failures.

Also brought in is the update to the version 1.2, with a beta of the Custom Championship feature, major graphical updates and the Real Weather feature, where 42 years of historical weather data is included to increase accuracy of the weather system, allowing for the return of the custom race date, while Livetrack presets keep the event’s weather dynamics in accordance with the date selected, from 1979 to the current days. The Real Weather is currently limited to a few tracks, including the Racin’ USA ones, described in the changelog released by REIZA Studios.

The Racin’ USA DLC Part 1 can be acquired separately, but you also have the option of getting the full pack, with a higher price that covers the Parts 2 and 3 that will come in the future, or by getting the Season Pass, now extended to 2022. If you don’t have the DLC, you can use the new cars and tracks in the multiplayer mode.
