Grove Racing embarks into GTWC Australia effort

The debut season of the FANATEC GT World Challenge Australia is still receiving new entries, and Grove Racing is the newest player in the game, making the grid richer with its international experience.

The choice for the team is the tried and trusted Porsche 911 GT3R 991.2-spec, coming straight from the 2020 Bathurst 12 Hour with an A-Pro-Am class win on it to keep their record in the mountain, as previous success was achieved with Porsche Cup machinery, and it will be in the Pro-Am Cup that Grove Racing will face off the new challenge, with the most of family feel as possible as father and son Stephen and Brenton Grove doing the driving.

Stephen has practically a Porsche-only racing career from the regional races to international events, with most of it being behind the various iterations of Porsche Cup cars, which continues until this day while also jumping into GT3 territory. Brenton on the other way has a more versatile resume, with open wheel and touring car experience adding to his Porsche-filled career.

Grove Racing will face some stiff competition in the already established grid, with powerhouse teams Jamec Racing and Triple Eight confirming single car efforts with ace Supercar drivers Garth Tander and Shane van Gisbergen.

The 2021 FANATEC GT World Challenge Australia season starts on 12 to 14 March at Phillip Island.
