GPX and ART join forces for GTWC Europe program

GPX Racing
, a 24 Hours of Spa winner and one of the major forces in the FANATEC GT World Challenge Europe, opted for some sort of renovation and a helping hand in its plans for 2021, as it confirmed its commitment to the European series.

The UAE squad will keep their trusted Porsche 911 GT3R 992 spec, and will take advantage of their relationship with the Stuttgart manufacturer, as a trio of factory drivers were named again, with Mathieu Jaminet and Matt Campbell staying onboard while Earl Bamber is the new addition to the team, taking the place from Patrick Pilet. As it is obvious, GPX will be in the Pro Cup, but will again restrain their program to the Endurance Cup.

Along with the new driver, GPX welcomes ART Grand Prix onboard as their partner for 2021, with the French outfit in fact returning to the SRO competitions after staying a long time and two GT3 generations away, since they campaigned a pair of McLaren MP4-12Cs in the Endurance Cup, known as Blancpain Endurance Series at the time.

ART Grand Prix is well known for their open wheel efforts, but the team also has its involvement in sportscar and touring car racing, acting on their own in DTM and supporting SMP Racing's short lived foray in FIA WEC's LMP1 class with the BR Engineering BR1.

The camo scheme used in the presentation apparently isn't final, but the real livery reveal will come later according to the team, as this would be a break into their tradition of using classic Gulf Oil themed schemes.

The FANATEC GT World Challenge Europe season will start on 16 April at Monza.
