M-SPORT Bentley announces extra drivers for 24 Hours of Spa

With a huge effort of four cars to be aligned for the 24 Hours of Spa, M-SPORT Bentley still had to announce who will be the drivers of the Intercontinental GT Challenge entries that will join the Blancpain GT entries, and some surprises appeared in the names called up for the task.

Bentley had two different approaches in their lineup selections, with one car having graduates from their customer racing roster while the other will be driven by some top notch guys in the GT scene.

For one car, Seb Morris and Callum McLeod will join Rodrigo Baptista, with the first two coming from a campaign with Team Parker Racing in the whole Blancpain GT Series, while Baptista comes from K-PAX Racing after dedicating his Bentley drive time to Blancpain GT World Challenge America. Morris is the one with recent endurance racing experience in Bentley machinery, so he’s expected to lead sprint racers McLeod and Baptista.

For the other car, Markus Palttala, BMW driver who recently had his way with Emil Frey Racing in Blancpain GT, brings in a wealth of experience, while Lucas Ordoñez and Alex Buncombe complete the lineup. Ordoñez and Buncombe follow the path of Wolfgang Reip, who became a Bentley Boy right after leaving Nissan’s global program, with the Spaniard having more in common with Reip as both were graduates from the GT Academy program.

The lineups of the other two cars will be filled by the current Bentley factory pool, with Steven Kane, Jules Gounon and Jordan Lee Pepper in the No. 107 car while Andy Soucek and Maxime Soulet wait for a third driver for the No. 108 car with the news that Vincent Abril left Bentley to join AKKA-ASP in their Blancpain GT campaign for 2019.
