After GRX TANECO proved in 2018 that it they could be one of the leading forces of the privateer field of the FIA World Rallycross Championship, the Finnish team will return with more Hyundais and a stronger lineup in what is practically a new championship this year.
The triple effort from GRX TANECO comes with the addition of 2018 Euro RX champion Reinis Nitiss to the team that already Niclas Grönholm and Timur Timerzyanov, all of them using the same WRC-derived Hyundai i20 RX machines from last year, which gave the team the fourth place in the teams standings.
The 2018 season was especially productive for Niclas Grönholm, as he was a consistent semifinal contender, and four participations in the finals proved that he can be a fierce contender in a privateer-filled grid.
Tests already started with updated i20 RX models in order to be ready for the first event at Abu Dhabi on April 5th.
