KCMG will bring two Nissans to IGTC

After concentrating its efforts in regional level in terms of GT3 racing, Hong Kong-based team KCMG will travel south to compete in the Bathurst 12 Hours, and this commitment will be extended to the full Intercontinental GT Challenge season.

The GT3 activities of KCMG were focused on the Blancpain GT Series Asia this year, where the same pair of GT-Rs competed full time, with GT Academy driver Florian Strauss partnering Edoardo Liberati to end the season in sixth in the standings. The team also had their taste of the IGTC at the debut edition of the Suzuka 10 Hours, with both GT-Rs leaving the race, with the best car barely passing the halfway mark.

Both Nissan GT-Rs from KCMG will be in the GT3 Pro Cup and the drivers will be Liberati himself, along with Alexandre Imperatori, Oliver Jarvis, Tsugio Matsuda, while Josh Burdon and Katsumasa Chiyo are the new faces in the team. Most of the current KCMG roster shared track time in the Blancpain GT Series Asia, as well in the FIA GT World Cup and the Suzuka 10 Hours, while Chiyo was added to the team for the IGTC race in Japan. Chiyo also comes as a big name for Bathurst, being part of the lineup that conquered the mountain in 2015 with the NISMO Global Athlete Team and coming close to winning in 2016.

Which drivers will be in which cars will be a thing for a later date, and the team still needs to confirm whether a return to the Blancpain GT Series Asia is in the plans for 2019.
