CRAFT-Bamboo will switch to Mercedes machinery in 2019

CRAFT-Bamboo Racing will make another machine switch for the next season, as the team is leaving their partnership with Porsche to bring Mercedes cars in, looking forward to what will be an expanded program in 2019.

The idea is that both the GT3 and GT4 variations of the Mercedes AMG GT car will be used in the Blancpain GT World Challenge Asia, while the GT3 cars will also take part of some Intercontinental GT Challenge races, as well the FIA GT World Cup at Macau.

In fact the team isn’t that new to Mercedes cars as the AMG GT4 was used during the Blancpain GT Series Asia season in 2018 as Jean-Marc Merlin and Frank Yu switched from the Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR, while also bringing another car to the team in the final two events. In the GT3 scene, CRAFT-Bamboo is known for rather long relationships, as two seasons were spent with Porsche while the link was longer with Aston Martin.

At the moment there’s no confirmation in the driver lineups and tests will start once the cars arrive at Sepang, Malaysia.
