Audi presents new R8 LMS GT3 Evo

The current version of the Audi R8 LMS GT3 already has some good years of competition, and with most of the competition reinventing themselves in the class, so did the Ingolstadt manufacturer as they presented the new R8 LMS GT3 Evo.

The car was presented during the Paris Motor Show and as it was the case with the already presented Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo, the focus was on improvements of the original package to make it more suitable for gentleman drivers. The standout point is the revised aerodynamics, specially at the front end, which promise to bring more consistent downforce levels to the new car. Also, the transmission and clutch had some updates, meaning the service intervals would be longer, which represents some good economy for the customer teams.

The new Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo is already available for customers, though those who own the second generation R8 can buy an Evo kit to upgrade their current machinery. Though the full time debut of the car with homologation in place will be in 2019, it will have an earlier competitive debut in the VLN with Car Collection Motorsport fielding one R8 LMS GT3 Evo.
