ARX confirms entry list for Silverstone

The Americas Rallycross Championship will soon start a new era for the sport in the USA, even though the start is at the other side of the Atlantic, and 10 cars were revealed to be taking part of the debut event at Silverstone, with a mix of American-based talent and European forces.

As expected, Volkswagen and Subaru were quick to confirm their names for the first round, with Volkswagen keeping Scott Speed and Tanner Foust in the title-winning pair of Beetle RX models they already used, while Subaru retained Chris Atkinson, Patrik Sandell and David Higgins to compete in three WRX STi models.

The rest of the grid is completed by Europe-based competitors, with Münnich Motorsport aligning two SEAT Ibizas for René Münnich and Timo Scheider, as the car comes from an Euro RX spell in the end of 2017. Liam Doran will be aligning a Citroën DS 3 RX under his own LD Motorsports banner, while Albatec Racing will have a Peugeot 208 WRX for Andy Scott, both coming from British Rallycross Championship campaigns, and completing the list will be Philippe Maloigne in a G-FORS Clio R.S. RX, which is also racing in the FFSA Rallycross in France.

The Americas Rallycross Championship event at Silverstone will be held on May 27th, with live transmission to be made on the championship’s Facebook page.
