Block announces partial ARX campaign

One of the toughest news to deal with in the end of 2017 was that Ford and Hoonigan Racing Division were leaving the FIA World Rallycross Championship, but the Hoonigan boy Ken Block will make a return to rallycross this year while also committing to other types of competition.

Block’s return to rallycross will be in a partial effort in the new Americas Rallycross Championship promoted by World RX company IMG, taking part in two of the four rounds of the competition, being them the one at the Circuit of the Americas in July and the Trois Rivières event in August. The vehicle of choice will be the same Ford Focus RS RX used in World RX during his two years of the Hoonigan Racing program, though this time Loenbro Motorsports will take care of the car development part, and with this Steve Arpin will join Block in a two car campaign.

Still in the United States, Block will take part of the inaugural World RX of USA at the CIrcuit of the Americas with the same Ford Focus RS RX, though at the moment he is the only driver who will represent Hoonigan in the world stage.

The rest of Block’s schedule will feature some Rally America appearances in a classic Ford Escort Cosworth Group A, an appearance in the Spanish WRC round with a 2017 spec Ford Fiesta RS WRC and plans are in place for some Gymkhana GRID entries.

The debut ARX season starts at Silverstone’s Speedmachine circuit on May 25th.
