RJN confirms Blancpain GT Endurance Cup program

Former Blancpain GT Endurance Cup champions RJN Motorsport will return to the competition this year, aligning the usual two cars from previous years, again splitting classes to have a shot for title while also offering opportunities for newcomers.

The new iteration of the Nissan GT-R GT3 which will also have a Blancpain GT debut in Asia with KCMG will be the choice, and the formula from previous years to split their entries between two classes comes again in replacement of the full Pro Cup attack tried in 2017, with one entry still in the Pro Cup while the other will be in the Silver Cup, a Sprint Cup class that is making its debut in the Endurance Cup this year, with RJN using the past model GT-R GT3 for this entry. The partnership with Motul stays where it is, as well the link with Sony, as the team will promote Playstation 4 title GT Sport.

GT Academy mentor and part of the title winning team in 2015, Alex Buncombe will be the leading driver of the Pro Cup entry, counting with the experience of the first GT Academy winner Lucas Ordoñez and with rising star Matt Parry. The Silver Cup entry will feature Struan Moore, part of the team in 2017, along with GT Academy winner Ricardo Sanchez, returning from a period in Pirelli World Challenge, and Jordan Witt.

The Blancpain GT Endurance Cup season starts on April 22nd at Monza, but a sample of what the teams have to offer will come this week on March 13th and 14th during the official tests at Paul Ricard.
