One of the questions that the fans of the DiRT Rally game were doing to themselves as well to Codemasters is about extra content to come to the game after the 1.0 version, released in PC physical media and on digital download by Codies itself and Steam last December. These doubts were solved as the successful off-road title will receive extra content along with the console release on April 5th.
On
the same time, the owners of the game on Playstation 4, XBOX One and
PC will receive an extra set of cars and a new track for the
hillclimb discipline, along with some other good things for the
console users who pre-ordered the game.
The
additions in the rally cars will be the first world rally champion,
the Alpine
A110
and the Renault
5 Turbo,
another icon from the Group B era.
The
hillclimb fans will have the honor to drive the record-breaking
monster Peugeot
208 T16,
which is the current Pikes
Peak International Hillclimb
record holder by a mile. Along with it comes the only addition in
terms of places, as the Pikes Peak road loses all the tarmac and
comes in a full gravel version.
The
discipline that received the largest part of the new content was
rallycross as two new classes will be brought to the game, the Super
1600 with three models, the Renault
Clio S1600,
the Peugeot
207 S1600
and the Opel
Corsa S1600,
and a classic Mini
class, with the iconic little cars battling each other for track
domination.
And
Codemasters also thought in the newcomers, as not everyone that
starts playing DiRT Rally knows a thing or two about rallying, so
tutorial videos can explain most of the basic of it so you won't feel
lost and sad for always going right into a ditch, a tree or a cliff.
Other
thing that will bring a lot of hype to DiRT Rally is a bunch of
iconic Colin
McRae
liveries, letting the user enter in the role of the most famous rally
driver of all time, like with the 555-liveried Subaru Impreza.
The
benefits for the console guys don't stop: pre-ordering the Legend
Edition, a fully upgraded Mini Cooper S with a special livery and a
team engineer with perks will be available. A steelbook and driver's
guide will also be available for pre-order if you want some
collectibles.
